The Functional Condo Remodel
These empty nester clients decided to downsize and move into their townhome that had been a long-term rental. Wanting to update and personalize their space, many hours were spent discussing their new chapter in life and what was important to them. Creating a scaled yet styled space, with an emphasis on storage and function was the top priority.
We decided to keep the look fresh and neutral, but also cozy and a bit rustic. Modern, marbled quartz countertops with shaker style cabinets kept the look timeless and clean, to balance that we grounded the floors with a warm and inviting brushed maple material with a stacked textured stone for the fireplace to add depth. The powder bath, despite its small size, had a big impact. The hexagonal tiled wall added a dramatic flair while the clean and modern lines of the sink, fixture and mirror kept the simplicity of the design. In the master bath we removed the shower curb, added a linear drain, added under vanity lighting, hidden LED lighting in the shower to give it more light, and added a shower niche with two shelves.
